Dr Alma-Nalisha Cele

Dr Alma-Nalisha Cele is an experienced doctor with a demonstrated history of working in the pharmaceutical & health care industry.

She is skilled in clinical skills, quality patient care, analytical skills, communication, and medicine. she holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery – MBBCH focused in Medicine from University of the Witwatersrand and a postgraduate diploma (cum laude) in medicine development at University of Stellenbosch.

An avid bibliophile who has been reading since the age of 4, she credits books as having saved her life countless times and given flight to her imagination. She counts feminism and the radical act of re-imagining one’s self as her driving forces moving forward.  In 2019, she was named one of the Mandela  Washington Fellows to undertake a prestigious fellowship in the United State. She was also named one of the top 200 Young South Africans in 2019.

Letlhogonolo Mokgoroane

Letlhogonolo Mokgoroane is a practising advocate and also a part-time in-counsel at the Centre for Applied Legal Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand.

They obtained their LLB from Stellenbosch University. After University, they served articles and later become an associate at Bowman Gilfillan Inc. In July 2016, they served as a law clerk for Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga at the Constitutional Court of South Africa.

They obtained the Sonke/UCLA Health & Human Rights Fellowship in 2017/2018 and completed a Masters in Law specialising Public Interest Law and Policy and Critical Race Studies (summa cum laude) .

They were named one of the top 200 Young South Africans in 2018. In 2022, they formed part of the judging panel for the AKO Caine Prize For African Writing.
